A book is meant for reading or to look for information. After using a book people tend to put their books in a bookcase or after a while they thrown them away. Those books can either be recycled or upcycled. Of course I like the upcycle choice much better. Look for instance at the beautiful lamp ‘Light Reading‘ by Lula Dot.

And this time there’s this very simple, but oh so beautiful looking design called ‘Atlas Book Lamp‘ by Bomdesign, Rotterdam | The Netherlands. It looks like a flower or like a bird flapping its wings. This lamp has been created out of a used Atlas book. The lamp is used with an energy saving light bulb, therefore there is no risk of fire and is more environment friendly. The lamps are being used in restaurants in Barcelona and Madrid and hotels in Spain and Germany.
