For over a decade, every single Friday, the talented street artist My Dog Sighs has been transforming found materials into beautiful art. He purposefully leaves these creations on the street, giving unsuspecting passersby a chance to discover them, pick them up, and give them a loving home. The magical A Can is Born My Dog Sighs initiative is a wonderful, direct form of public interaction that turns discarded waste into treasured objects.

The Creative Process behind A Can is Born My Dog Sighs Revealed

Commissioned by My Dog Sighs and created in partnership with Strong Island Media, this short film offers a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at his creative process—showing exactly how his upcycled tin can art is born. Once a tin can finishes its primary life housing food, it is thoroughly washed and occasionally allowed to age organically in the garden. After achieving the perfect patina, it is carefully crushed and masterfully painted into a striking portrait. The specific can featured in this A Can is Born My Dog Sighs illuminating film is then left on the street as part of the global FreeArtFriday movement.
