After cutting in books and drilling holes, it’s time for our precious books to have a nice place. Books deserve a prominent place in our house. It doesn’t have to be big, but it would be nice if it’s different and catches the eye.
Drawer becomes eye-cather on a wall
What about the ‘Drawer Lamp’ by Catherine Hug. Catherine lives in Berlin | Germany and collects creative interior design, upcycle and DIY ideas on her site HyggeLig. One time she discovered this drawer and thought it should serve as a bedside table. But then she also had this corner in the living room next to her comfy leather chair, that needed a lamp.
Well since 1+1=2, she took the drawer and upcycled it to this Drawer Lamp. Nothing more than a drawer on its side turned into a little bookshelf with a cord and lightbulb attached to it. A very basic textile cord with porcelain socket, a switch and a professional cable suspension.

Oh, how I do like this design. It’s straightforward simplicity makes it into a stunning little and very functional upcycle design piece. I think after seeing the Drawer Lamp many of you will look if there’s an old drawer lying around.
