Numerous experiments were conducted by Jan-Paul Meulendijks, in an attempt to cure flexible tubing into a rigid material. A new method was developed: ‘Flux’.
And by using this method, a stunning chandelier was created called Flux chandelier. The designer behind this eye-catcher is Jan-Paul Meulendijks, founder of creative studio JAN PAUL.

Inspired by nature
Flexible steel tubes are formed by hand and after forming they become strong and rigid. Each object is formed exclusively by hand. So without the use of molds, machines, or construction elements. It has an indefinable arrangement, which makes it a unique object.

The Flux series consists of organic and dynamic objects that are inspired by nature:
Patterns in nature are very similar. However, at every step they set destinations. The flow, growth, and development of organisms and systems in seemingly random and chaotic, but predestined paths.

Jan-Paul Meulendijks:
“I want to create with no concessions and fully explore and crystallize the ideas I have.“
Geometric arms
The center of a chandelier is an open intersection of chaos: several tubes flow under and over each other in a cycle trying to find a way out. The tubes flow in 6 ordered geometric arms. The arms hold six light bulbs.

JAN PAUL is a platform aimed at channeling new, conceptual, autonomous and experimental designs. It wants to cross the boundaries between design and art. So no more restrictive boxes, edges, or requirements.
